The latest research by Redfield & Wilton Strategies finds that 46% of Americans disapprove (-1) and 38% approve (+2) of President Joe Biden’s overall job performance as President. His net approval rating (-8%) is three points higher than in our previous poll conducted on 5-6 August.

Looking ahead to the 2024 Presidential Election, Donald Trump holds a commanding lead in the Republican Presidential Primary.
Among likely Republican Primary voters, 65% say they would vote for Trump to be the Republican Party’s nominee, with Vivek Ramaswamy (10%) the only other candidate in double figures. 9% say they would vote for Ron DeSantis while 6% are undecided.
On the Democratic side, 71% of likely Democratic Primary voters say they would vote for Joe Biden to be the party’s candidate in the General Election, while 9% would vote for his closest challenger, Robert F. Kennedy Jr. 14% are undecided how they would vote.
Our latest hypothetical voting intention finds Donald Trump leading Joe Biden by one point nationally. After weighing by likelihood to vote, 42% say they would vote for Trump (–) and 41% of respondents say they would vote for Biden (+1) if they were candidates in 2024. A further 11% say they don’t know how they would vote (–).
Large majorities of 2020 Donald Trump voters (89%, +2) and Joe Biden voters (82%, +2) maintain that they would again vote for those respective candidates.
